Old Friends and New Beginnings

This past weekend the girls and I took a trip up North to Hollywood, MD to see Michelle's childhood friend, Liza, start a new life with her husband. We decided to go up on Saturday morning since it was a 5 hour drive and we didn't want Cece staying up late on Friday night. We went shortly after she ate breakfast and was ready for her morning nap. We got to stop at the Virginia Welcome Center on 85 and had to clean up Cece because she even got the car seat dirty with her blow up. The rest of the trip went pretty smoothly and we got to the hotel with enough time to get showered and ready.

We really enjoyed being there to watch Liza get married and catch up with so many people from Michelle's childhood. The place was in a state park on a horse farm and it was very scenic and right on the Patuxent River. They were wed in front of a beautiful garden and arch in a less traditional ceremony; the only thing that would have made it better was if it was about 15 degrees cooler. During the reception we got to share stories about babies and hear how everyone was doing and it was so fun to catch up and introduce our daughter to everybody. Cece was the belle of the ball and looked so cute with a dress that her Grandmother bought for her. I wish we took more pictures, but it is tough when you are on a tight schedule and trying to keep her happy.

The drive home on Sunday was pretty uneventful and we even made it in only about 5 1/2 hours which is pretty good with a sit down lunch. We were so glad that we made the trip to the wedding; it was nice area of Maryland to see and it was so good to catch up with people. We just wish there was more time to spend with friends and that it is not that long before we see them again. Here are a few pictures from the wedding:
