So we went to the hospital this morning for the amniocentesis to check that the fetus is fully matured. Everything went pretty well this morning, and Michelle did very well through out the process of getting a catheter, the amnio, and then a cervical check. They monitored the fetus for a few hours afterward to ensure everything was okay, and then sent us home because the tests results took a while to get. They let Michelle leave with the catheter under the assumption we would be back tonight to start inducing.
After waiting all day, we found out that the other hospital that was supposed to run the test somehow didn't run the test, so we are not going in to be induced tonight. I am taking Michelle back to the hospital tonight to get the catheter removed. Then, assuming the test gets run tomorrow and comes back with the needed results, we will go in tomorrow night to start a cervical catheter to help with dilation, and then petocin the next morning to start labor. So for right now we are just trying to keep our nerves calm and waiting in a holding pattern until we hear back tomorrow afternoon.
