Putting the Pieces Back Together

We were able to get the carpet installed last week, which was actually ahead of the schedule originally given to us from Lowe's. This was the finishing touch on the work we had been getting done, and allowed us to empty out our garage and walk in attic and put all of the pieces to the puzzle that was our house back together.

My parents, sister, niece, and nephew came for a visit this weekend bringing loads of baby clothes, swings, car seats, toys, a crib mattress, and a stroller. They also were a big help in getting everything put back where we wanted it since we moved things around in all of the rooms. Needless to say we feel so much better now about the house and being prepared for the baby, so thanks guys!

The room we spent the most time on obviously was the nursery. We put the crib together on Thursday night and moved the day bed that I sanded and painted from a wood stain to a white paint. My Dad helped me move the combo and hutch into the nursery and my Mom, sister, and Michelle worked on filling it with all of the baby clothes they brought.

The glider Michelle ordered online and it happened to come on Saturday, so my Mom put that together in the room. So as you can see, the room came together very quickly and we are really happy with how it turned out.

I worked on the closet installing shelving to give us more storage; it came out a little less versatile than I thought it would be, but I think we like it.

The bonus room just got rearranged to make it feel more like a place you could hang out. We did the accent wall on the far wall and sides of the incline of the roof.

Lastly, the guest room which we still have some work to do, so there is no furniture. We have some book shelves that we may repaint and put in the room, but we are not sure yet. It turned out a little more blue than we expected, but I think it will be nice when we have the furniture in there.

It feels a lot less stressful with things coming together and the nursery being so close to ready. We are hoping to finish everything soon and will post the final pictures when we are done!
